Election of Dr. Khaled Sassi to the ISOFAR World Board, 2017-2020 (International Society of Organic Agriculture Research)

The election of Dr. Khaled Sassi to the ISOFAR World Board, 2017-2020 will enable all Tunisian agricultural institutions, and particularly INAT, to promote their research achievements in this field, and to consolidate their research program in organic farming with the support from ISOFAR, to meet the growing needs of the organic sector face to the challenges of climate change and food security.

During his participation in the World Congress of Organic Agriculture in India, organized every three years by IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements), Dr. Khaled Sassi, Associate Professor at the National Agronomic Institute of Tunisia (INAT), was elected on 08 November 2017 in New Delhi (India) as Member of the new ISOFAR World Board for the tenure 2017 to 2020.

The International Society of Organic Agriculture Research (ISOFAR) headquartered in Bonn, Germany, is an international organization that brings together academically rigorous, interdisciplinary and socially engaged scientists to meet the needs of researchers, farmers and other community members. It has about 1109 members from 97 countries all over the world.

The ISOFAR promotes and supports research in all areas of organic agriculture by facilitating global cooperation in research, methodological development, education and knowledge exchange; supporting individual researchers through membership services, publications and events and integrating stakeholders in the research process.

In 2011, ISOFAR launched a renowned scientific journal in organic agriculture: the "Journal of Organic Agriculture,” published by Springer Germany.
