Brian Galey is a senior web developer at the Geospatial Innovation Facility with 10 years of experience in the geospatial industry utilizing a broad swath of technologies. He enjoys contributing to open source software where he has created the Spillway and Greenwich Python packages for building RESTful geo-APIs. As a presenter, he has co-led workshops on developing geographic data visualization tools.

Prior to his experience at UC Berkeley, Brian worked as a GIS analyst for Garcia and Associates, a biological and cultural resources consulting firm based in Marin County. At GANDA, he served as the geospatial lead on a myriad of projects dealing with biological cultural resources, transportation, infrastructure, planning, and economic development. 

Brian attended the University of Oregon and received a B.S. in Geography with a focus on GIS and Environmental Studies.
