In its recent newsletter, the International Training Center on Pig Husbandry mentioned the May 26-30, 2015 collaboration between UC Berkeley and Filipino Department of Agriculture. In the newsletter, they detailed how program participants got the opportunity to visit places such as Fresno, Bethel Island, and Contra Loma Regional Park to personally view sustainability facilities. Not only was this program a crucial component in shaping future livestock production strategies, but it also paved the way for further collaborations between Filipino and California universities for "projects and research endeavors related to livestock and poultry".
