Jenny Palomino

Jenny Palomino has 10 years of professional GIS and database experience across the private, public, and non-profit sectors. She has presented at various geospatial conferences, including the ESRI User Conference in San Diego and, most recently, FOSS4G NA 2015 in San Francisco. Her specialties include Python scripting and database development and administration (PostgreSQL, PostGIS, ArcSDE, Oracle, MS SQL Server). She is currently working on her dissertation that focuses on land cover change, conservation areas, and spatial data science. She plans to complete her Ph.D in 2016 from the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at UC Berkeley. Throughout her Ph.D, she has taught several geospatial workshops for graduate students, mentored and instructed undergraduates in geospatial techniques, and, most recently, taught a half-day tutorial on PySAL and Rasterio at FOSS4G NA 2015.
