Received his BS in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles and later received his DVM from UC Davis. Currently, his research focuses on the application of classic and spatial epidemiology in disease surveillance, food safety management, and other processes associated with poultry health. He was the recipient of the 2012 Certificate of Merit, CDFA for his involvement in response to poultry welfare incident and the Spot Award for education outreach associated with 'Microbiology boot camp.'
