Nadav Sorek is a postdoctoral researcher at the Energy Biosciences Institute (EBI) at the University of California, Berkeley. He completed his M.S with summa cum laude in the Department of Molecular Biology and Ecology of Plants at the University of Tel Aviv in 2005, and received his PhD in plant biology from the University of Tel Aviv in 2010. After completing his PhD, he moved to UC Berkeley as a postdoctoral researcher, aiming to expand the uses of molecular tools in plants to advance research in bioenergy. Under the supervision of the EBI director, Chris Somerville, Nadav Sorek's research focus in identifying novel genes that participate in cell wall formation.
